The goal of the Five Things is to grow a global community of individuals encompassing all ages, locations and occupations; discovering, and documenting, the stories behind the things they choose as their five favourites. Hopefully, growing into an archive of interesting stories about humans and the things we love.

Kaffe O is a funky nordic inspired coffee bar on Belfast's Ormeau Road. The idea for this cool new coffee bar came from O's owner – Orla Smyth. After working in Copenhagen for several years, Orla released that Northern Ireland needed to sample nordic coffee culture and that a particular niche lay in the Belfast coffee scene. Orla employed me to work with her on all elements of design for this new nordic inspired coffee bar; from brand development right through to art direction and implementation.
Kaffe O is more than a coffee bar though, it's a brand, a lifestyle choice; and the brief from Orla was very much to create something that looked modern, fresh, nordic and to be different from what was already out there.
A website and identity design for local artist Julie Douglas.
Julie not only paints amazingly, but she also teaches art in her studio. The identity had to represent her love of painting, drawing and art. To do this I used a script font and created a brand mark for her using a smear of oil paint.
Julie's website includes her portfolio, information about all her classes and loads of another beautiful things.
Check out the site I created for her here >> http://www.juliedouglas.co.uk/

The Factory is a fresh modern grooming salon located opposite Belfast's City Hall; right in the heart of Belfast city centre. The salon's owner – Rowan Vernon – asked me to create a sleek, trendy and minimalist brand for this new outlet. Using modernist reference points I then created the identity, signage and all other branded print/digital material required for the launch of the new salon.
Motion Graphics. Animation.
This animation was created to promote a new night at popular Belfast bar Cuckoo. The night was to be called 'PONG!' as it would feature ping-pong and beer pong tournaments alongside a resident DJ playing urban and alternative anthems.
The brief asked that the animation be inspired by vintage computer games with an element of Manga style artwork and also a sense of humour to blend in with the bar's own brand and philosophy.
